OK, it's the 11th May today, and here in Morecambe we have what can only be termed "Autumnal weather". There is a very strong wind, that is gusting, and it has been raining. The rain, I can take or leave, but the wind always makes me feel invigorated. I'm sure there are many people who would think I'm crazy for loving windy, gusty weather, but to me it always feels like it is blowing away the stale air, and maybe stale ideas, scouring the area so it is ready to accept new ideas, and new events.
I have had a walk along the prom and the wind is playing with the sea, teasing it into waves with sea foam along the top of them, and as they hit the sea wall, the reflected waves are making lovely pointed waves topped with more sea foam, as they meet with the incoming waves.
In my book, a perfect Autumn day, plucked from the back end of the year and dropped into spring.
There are even some brave kite surfers out on the bay enjoying the wind.

Sandcastle competition weekend
I haven't been down to the promenade as yet, but the wind is blowing quite strongly, and it's raining. Not the best weather for being on the beach making sandcastles. The competition is usually on Sunday, but I saw a poster saying that it was extended to encompass Saturday as well. All I can say is ...if it is today as well, at least the sand will be more workable being wet.

Sunday
Hmm....the "neighbours" have either been very sedate of late, or I have been sleeping deeply. Haven't been woken by yelling for ages.
In my last post I did say that it would get windy here. It has been today, with the highest being 40 mph winds. Unfortunately high tide is not in daylight, so I couldn't see the rough waves.
This website is great for seeing exactly what the weather is doing here.
In the past I have blogged about unanswerable questions, here's another one along the same lines. Why do some folks ask you how you are, then take absolutely no notice of your answer? What is the point of asking? If it is how they have been brought up...to ask after a person's health, they were probably also brought up to listen to the answer. Sorry for having a moan about this, but there are two people I encounter every day, who repeatedly ask me "how are you?" then act in a way it is patently obvious they haven't listened to my answer. Next time I don't think I will bother answering.
That's my gripe over.
I caught up earlier on Book Addicts Anonymous, a blog I share with Blue. I'd recently read some books and not blogged about them. So it might look like I have read four books at once, but I haven't.

It's my Dad's birthday next Saturday, and I rang up a company to arrange his present, and was asked if I was over 18, as the present is a meat cleaver. I said, yes definitely, and it was for my Dad anyway. The woman laughed and said, "well, we have to ask". I knew she had to, it just seemed funny being asked.

Wind.
I still like it being very windy, even though it took my TV aerial down. Mind you, it had only loosened the aerial, then lifted it off the mast. The men who came to put it back up told me that some people they had been to had their mast and aerials broken, and there had been damage to roofs as well, by aerials. So, I suppose I got off lightly.
Am a little poorer now, but my TV is now working again, without snow, or the picture breaking up.
