I'm sat here watching "Ade in Adland", and thinking back, some of these adverts we used to discuss and have a good laugh about, during form period.
He does point out that many women went out to work who would have normally stayed at home. They were able to do this and still produce meals with the help of fridges, convenience food.
If you follow this blog you'll know I work at a school and one of the things that is now on the curriculum is being able to produce simple home cooking, as part of the government's push towards healthier eating.
It is true some families do opt for "convenience foods and takeaways, sometimes for speed, and sometimes because the person in charge of putting a meal on the table knows no different.
I think it is probably time people took much more notice of what food they actually put into their bodies.
I am willing to accept that making a meal from scratch takes more time to make, but you ensure that your meal is as healthy, or unhealthy as you want it. And I know everyone is different, but testing out a new recipe and seeing it well received by my family is reward enough for me.
I hope it's this makes sense, my thoughts have just connected in a chain that although logical to me, might not be to the reader. If it doesn't quite make sense to you, I'm sorry.

Is that what the advert is about?
This article caught my eye!
If you watch the advert, unless you know what thew advert is for, you could be excused for thinking it it for "hot pants/short-shorts" or whatever you want to call them.
Obviously the advert was made with the male buyer in mind. You know..man sees all those skimpy shorts and buys a pair of the trainers for his nearest and dearest.
Or am I just being cynical?

Off at a tangent
There is a radio advert being aired here at the moment, and although the subject is really a very serious one, every time I hear it I can't stop myself laughing.
Perhaps the USAs mania for labelling everything so people don't sue is beginning to rub off here in the UK? After all why else would they have to say part way through the advert, which is about a bowel cancer testing kit, [see told you it was serious!,] an instruction to "Take the test in the privacy of your own home!"? I would have thought that instruction was blazingly obvious, being as we are civilised people and do not just squat down as and when the urge takes us.
I'm sorry, but I do find the instruction superfluous. I can't say anyone comes to mind who would blithely fill their sample container in the public eye. Perhaps I just don't know anyone daft enough.

I love this site
For those of you who aren't in the UK....I just thought I'd put this link up.
http://www.comparethemeerkat.com/home.html
Explore the site, it's a little wacky. Here in the UK there's a insurance comparison website called compare the market, I think the site above has probably been built by compare the market ...as there are links.
It just makes me smile.
I love the way Aleksander says "simple" at the end of each advert.

Strange adverts
They are currently running an ad on TV here, and every time I see it, I end up laughing my head off. The first time I saw it I couldn't tell Sam why I was laughing uncontrollably.
You might not think it is funny, but it's a really serious advert about looking after your hair, and this "new" haircare product, that is this years, "simply must have" , if you care about your hair. Straightforward enough I hear you say, trouble is, after showing models with shining tresses, shaking their hair in time honoured fashion of hair adverts, it shows the "brains" behind the new product, and that just makes me laugh.
Should I put it politely, in PC terms, or just be blunt?
He follically challenged, yes, that's right, the brains behind this product is BALD!
Might be being picky here, but I'm not sure that a follically challenged person is the "right" person to be advising people on their hair care. Now, every time this advert comes on, I just start falling about laughing. Well, at least it brightens my day.

Not good for sancastles
There was a sandcastle building competition on the beach today, I didn't go down to look, but it's been chilly and overcast. Not ideal weather for building a sandcastle, unless you are a dedicated sand artist.
I did take the dogs a walk, and as usual, little old ladies stopped me. (They just seem to appear, and their sole aim in life is to let dogs lick their faces!......yuck!) But they made all the usual comments. How lovely the dogs are. Aen't they well-behaved? Aren't they clipped nice? Do I like whisky? Do I get any money for advertising? (The dogs are a Westie and a Scottie.)
Squashed a whole pile of washing, and then just relaxed.
Tomorrow is going to be taken up with organising things for Oliver, in preparation for him going to Uni.
